Register of Electors
The Register of Electors contains details of everyone who is registered to vote. It is used to determine who can vote at elections. For the years up to and including 2012 a new register was published annually, no later than 1 December.
As part of the plans to implement individual electoral registration, the publication date for the 1 December 2013 revised register was postponed to 10 March 2014 and the 1 December 2014 revised register was postponed to 27 February 2015.
From 1 December 2015 the publication of registers reverts to the original pattern of annual revised registers published by the 1 December.
A register may be revised and published at other times if, for example, major changes are made to the Register in the course of the year.
Update supplements are made on a monthly basis apart from when the annual canvass is underway during the autumn.
